INVITATION to participate

ZAJČAR - the capital of eastern Serbia.
Zajčar (in Serbian Zaječar) is a town in eastern Serbia, located very close to the Bulgarian border, in the valley where the Beli Timok and Crni Timok flow into the Timok River. It is the center of the Zajčar District and has a population of about 70,000 people. In the Zajčar region are the remains of the Roman imperial palace Felix Romuliana, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

PARTICIPANTS
Participants in the folklore festival are amateur groups from Serbia and Bulgaria. Dance, singing and instrumental folklore ensembles and groups for processed and authentic folklore, brass bands, ethnic folklore groups, groups for old urban songs, and puppetry groups can participate in the festival. No age restrictions. The festival is not competitive. Accompanying participants are also allowed.

THE PROGRAM of the festival offers:
- October 3 and 4 – festival concerts on an open stage in the center of the city of Zajčar
- fashion show in the central part of the city
- certificates for the participating groups
- October 3 and 4 – Serbian evening in a Serbian tavern and live Serbian music. The Serbian evening is optional, with prior reservation and additional payment.
Price for Serbian Evening per person 35 euros.

The rooms are double and triple.
Possibility of extending the stay.
Supplement for a single room 25 euros per day per person.
The price does not include transportation to the town of Zajčar, parking and personal expenses.
A group of 25 people is entitled to one free place in a double room (25 + 1).

SIGHTS IN THE AREA: UNESCO Heritage Site Felix Romuliana - Roman Palace, Zajčar Folk Museum, Radul Bey's Residence, Nikola Pašić Memorial Exhibition, Timoš Uprising Museum "Old Prison" - Bolevac, Popova Beach - an entertainment park on the banks of the Timok River, Sovinac Lake, Stone Pubs in the village of Rajac, Kralevica Nature Park, Bogovinska Cave. The town of Zajčar is also known for its 42 public fountains with healthy drinking water. Kitariada is the largest cultural event in the town and the oldest rock festival in Serbia, which is being held for the 59th time this year. Specialties of the region: a mug of Zajčar beer, village pocket, Timoška salad, ratan tea, Krivovir cheese and yogurt.

Note: To reach the town of Zajcar, you must pass through the Vrashka Chuka border crossing near the town of Vidin or through the Kalotina border crossing.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
A valid ID card for persons over 14 years of age.

DON'T MISS IT!!!
On the way to Zajcar or on the way back, you can stop in the towns of Vidin and Belogradchik, where you can visit the Baba Vida Fortress and the Belogradchik Rocks.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT DEADLINES
Candidates who wish to participate in the festival must apply for participation by filling out the Application form for registration by June 20, 2026.
Deadline for advance payment 20% of the total amount July 10, 2026.
Deadline for payment of the full amount August 20, 2026.
