TULCEA
The International Folklore Festival is held in the city of Tulcea, Romania for the sixth time. Tulcea is the administrative center of the county of the same name. The city is an important port in the Danube Delta, which is the largest delta in Europe. The Danube Delta is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Romania. It is located in the territory of Northern Dobrudja in Romania. Since 1991, the Danube Delta has been part of the UNESCO World Nature Heritage. Biosphere reserve of global importance with an area of 4152 sq. km., the place with the richest diversity of bird species in the world (over 300 species), a crossroads for migratory birds from three continents, moving along five air corridors.
Tulcea is located 175 km north of the Durankulak border crossing.
PARTICIPANTS
Participants in the folklore festival are amateur groups from Romania, Bulgaria and other countries. Dance, singing and instrumental folklore ensembles, groups for processed and authentic folklore, brass bands, groups for ethnic folklore, Kuker and Survakar groups, groups for old urban songs can participate in the festival. No age restrictions. The festival is not competitive. Accompanying participants are also allowed.
The folklore program of the group should be 10-12 minutes long.
OBJECTIVES of the festival:
- to develop cultural exchange between countries; to encourage the creative abilities of the individual; to present and promote the folklore and cultural traditions of the countries.
THE PROGRAM of the festival offers:
-September 18, 19 and 20 – festival concerts
- diplomas and plaques for the participating groups
- a 24-hour team that will be on site with you
Each folklore group has one performance on stage.
PARTICIPATION FEE
Package price per person:
97 euros per person - includes 2 nights with breakfast in a 3* hotel
135 euros per person – includes 3 nights with breakfast in a hotel 3*
Package price per person with accommodation at the Esplanada 4 * hotel:
The four-star Esplanada hotel is located on the promenade.
145 euros per person - includes 2 nights with breakfast in a 4 * hotel
205 euros per person - includes 3 nights with breakfast in a 4 * hotel
The rooms are double and triple.
Supplement for a single room 25 euros per day per person.
The price does not include transport to Tulcea, parking and personal expenses.
A group of 25 people is entitled to one free place in a double room (25 + 1).
EXCURSION
Opportunity for a motorboat excursion in the Danube Delta /the festival organizers prepare a preliminary schedule for the boat excursion. Payment on site./
Visit to the city sights: Danube Delta Museum, Folk Art Museum, Independence Monument, Museum of Contemporary Arts, Avramide House, History and Archeology Museum, St. Nicholas Church, the Bulgarian Church of St. George, the First Bulgarian School in Dobrudja "Bright Bulgaria" founded in 1859, Enisala Fortress.
In the 19th century, Tulcea was a typical Bulgarian Renaissance town and an important center of the Bulgarian Renaissance.

Each group organizes its own visits to the tourist sites in Tulcea.

A valid ID card for persons over 18 years of age.
DON'T MISS!!!
On the way to Tulcea or on the way back, stop in the city of Constanta - the oldest Romanian city and take a walking tour of the historic center of the city. Attractions: Casino, Genoese Lighthouse, Aquarium, Ovid Square, History Museum, Mahmudie Mosque, Folk Art Museum, House of the Lions, Wooden Church, etc. The city of Constanta is located 50 km north of the Durankulak border crossing on the Black Sea coast.
REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT DEADLINES
Candidates who wish to participate in the festival must apply by completing the Registration Application Form by May 15, 2026.
Deadline for advance payment 20% of the total amount June 30, 2026
Deadline for payment of the full amount August 20, 2026
